TAKARATOMY CYBERTRON SATELLITE 'DARK GUARD' OPTIMUS PRIME! CAMPAIGN SPECIAL!

8:27 PM in Black Repaint, CYBERTRON SATELLITE, Japan exclusive, OPTIMUS PRIME, special edition, TAKARATOMY, Transformers Prime

Hi folks, just a quick update on yet another 'exclusive' release regarding Transformers.

Dark Guard Optimus Prime is an exclusive release being offered by the Yodobashi Camera shops in Japan. The figure is a black and gold redeco of the popular Transformers Prime First Edition Voyager Optimus Prime mold which is  due for a release on December 1st, priced at 5,250 yen. The story of how Optimus Prime became the 'Dark' version, not Nemesis Prime, is translated from Takaratomy's site:

''To save his comrades who are infected with Dark Energon, Optimus Prime had his body covered with Energon Defense Coating. This black coating is an alloy Ratchet created by analyzing and converting MECH's equipment, and is capable of shielding Transformers from Dark Energon or any biological weapons such as a virus. Optimus' mobility is reduced due to the added weight, but this is the only form he can guard himself from Dark Energon.

UPDATE: MORE TRANSFORMERS PRIME ARMS MICRON RELEASES DUE DECEMBER 2012~

10:42 PM in ARMS-MICRON, Japan exclusive, Leo Prime, Shockwave, TAKARATOMY, Transformers Prime, Ultra Magnus, YET TO BE RELEASED

Hi folks, WSX here bringing you another piece of collecting update that I am personally psyched about. Arms Micron releases scheduled for December 2012. brings some exciting new characters to the fold.

Japanese toy company Takaratomy  has updated their website listings for three future Arms Micron releases: AM-27 Ultra Magnus (a redeco of the recently release Voyager Ultra Magnus with a new Arms Micron hammer), AM-28 Leo Prime (a redeco of Thundertron in colors resembling those of Lio Convoy from Beast Wars II, with a Micron companion resembling Moon, from the same show.) and AM-29 Shockwave

Story linked and credited to Uber fan-site TFW2005. These Voyager class toys will retail for approx 4,200 Yen and the deluxe at 2,100 Yen. Steep prices, but totally worth the time as the decos are much more inspired compared to Hasbro's versions IMHO. Add to the fact that Arm Micron toys/ weapons are fun to assemble and play with, it lends more in terms of value -add playability to the figures themselves. Really looking forward to getting these added to my ever growing collection!

TAKARA TOMY'S FALL OF CYBERTRON TOYS- SHINIER AND MORE DESIRABLE!

11:46 PM in Collector's Edition, Fall of Cybertron, Japan exclusive, Metallic Repaint, TAKARATOMY, YET TO BE RELEASED

Hi peoples! Just a quick and exciting update which I'd thought I'd share with you guys. Recently announced and released ACTUAL, in-hand retail pictures from Takaratomy's  Transformers Generations:- FALL OF CYBERTRON toy-line which is slated to be the mainstay collector-centric line to get for the 2013.

Amazon Japan has graciously posted upcoming versions for Fall of Cybertron Combaticons aka Bruticus, Kickback, Sideswipe, Ultra Magnus, Fireflight, Starscream and Voyager releases of Soundblaster and Soundwave with 'Buzzsaw' and 'Lazerbeak' 'Cybertronian Discs'.

Hand on heart, and gotta admit that these are indeed exciting times to be a Transformers aficionado, and Takaratomy has delivered once again, after taking some flak recently on skimping on the Quality Control of their products, which coincidentally has been in recent times, made in Vietnam- but I digress, and will most likely be picking these much more collector grade versions of their  rather bland and uninspiring Hasbro releases in the near future, which  coincidentally means as soon as these are available through the regular Japan-Hobby online-outlets. All credit must go toward uber-fan site TFW2005 for first posting the news for which inspired me to post this entry in the first place. :D

Meantime, Pre-orders are up on several sites such as Robotkingdom, etoysjapan and BBTS, just to name afew--to those who are looking to secure their collector-grade toys!

New Teaser Pic of TF; Prime Voyager Japan-only Unicron mould! OOOhhh..Pointy!

10:59 PM in ARMS-MICRON, Gaia Unicron, Japan exclusive, NOT YET RELEASED, PRE-ORDER, Transformers Prime, VOYAGER

Hi folks, just quick update on an exciting pic posted by none other thann Mr. 'Takaratomy' himself, Yuki-san on his Twitter page. Gaia Unicron in all his evil glory. Glad I have this monstrous destroyer of worlds paid for and pre-ordered. Releasing sometime next month! Cannot wait!

• Gaia Unicron (2012)

• ID number: AM-19

Gaia Unicron is an all new mold which transforms from Unicron's robot mode into Unicron's face inside a volcano. You read that right. He also transforms into a "capture" mode for either Voyager Optimus Prime or Megatron. His Micron partner, Bogu, transforms from what appears to be a robot mole into a pointy claw for him to wield. He features a panel which has one of each of the 3 Arms Micron Power crystals, not unlike Hades' tail.

TRANSFORMERS PRIME: GAIA UNICRON, ARMS MASTER PRIME AND MASTERPIECES!

9:38 PM in ARMS-MICRON, Gaia Unicron, Japan exclusive, MASTERPIECE, PRE-ORDER, Preview, Transformers Prime, YET TO BE RELEASED

Hi folks, just an interesting update for those who were thinking of grabbing Gaia Unicron from TF: Prime. Here are some pics courtersy of TFW2005 member Gaokaiser taken from a Japanese Hobby message board. I have put in my pre-orders and based on the picture, Gaia Unicron is one mean design which although not 'planet sized' he would go pretty well with all the TF: Prime Cyberverse mini-figs! Tokyo Toy Show 2012 Exclusive Terrorcon Bumblebee

9:12 AM in Black Repaint, Bumblebee, Japan exclusive, Just Arrived, JUST BOUGHT, Tokyo Toy Show 2012, Transformers Prime

AM-Terrorcon Bumblebee, the AEON Japan score exclusive arrived last week! Came in a rather 'smallish'-box and compact figure - sharp matte black finish makes the toy awesome!  Translucent purple eyes and headlights and teal arms and legs complete the 'Evil' Bee look. Perfection. Story goes that Bumblebee was corrupted by 'Dark Energon' and thus it was too much for him to bear till his soul became dark and unrepentant!

Oh hei! Another black/ teal Nemesis/ Terrorcon repaint for me to grab!

More details and pics here!  and from Robotkingdom.com!

UPDATE!!
A recent Twitter pic from Takaratomy! @ TF YUKI!

Wow. that's a beautiful black repaint. XD

Transformers Prime RID AM-15 Darkness Megatron (Official Images0 from Amazon Japan!

10:18 AM in ARMS-MICRON, Japan exclusive, Just Arrived, JUST BOUGHT, Latest Addition, Megatron, Minor Repaint, NOT IN COLLECTION, Transformers Prime, VOYAGER

UPDATED in box pics! Toy arrived, together with two Jet Vehicons sometime two weeks ago.  Very shiny....!

In person his chromed parts, while random and looking somewhat rather 'unfinished' - only his chest and shoulders are chromed, It's actually quite tastefully done and serves as a collector-edition type toy.

Figure King Japanese toy/ hobby Magazine July feature!

Takaratomy's rendition of the main Villain of the Decepticons from the Transformers Prime animated CG show is to be released sometime end of the month in July. Major differences from Hasbro version, is of course the addition of shiny paint apps, some neat stickers and TWO Arms Microns/ One a Bat Arms Micron- which transforms into a Scythe and Winged jet pack, and the other a standard Gorilla/ Arm Cannon. Price is approx USD $50.

TAKARATOMY TRANSFORMERS PRIME TOY COMMERCIAL!!

3:15 PM in 2012, ARMS-MICRON, Japan exclusive, Minor Repaint, TAKARATOMY, Transformers Prime, Yet To Arrive

Hiya peoples! Sorry for the slack in updating my blog...oh well, better late than never, right?! Anyway thought Id preview some TF: Prime goodness....starting with the toy commercial campaign to celebrate the new Transformers show .  Oh why couldn't toy commercials over here be as cool  as those from Japan?!

Takaratomy's Transformers Prime commercial, to coincide with the release of the anime series Fight! Robot lifeforms Transformers: Prime which is scheduled to be aired sometime next month, possibly mid April 2012.

Bought some releases at USD$19 a pop, namely AM-04 Ratchet and AM-06 Skywarp- which has not had confirmation of a possible USA-Hasbro release. To add a sense of 'play-value' to the exclusive Japan only Transformers Prime toys, Takaratomy has decided to include a sleuth of ARMS-MICRON - Robot-to weapon mini cons which can combine and power-up to make more powerful weapons. Although self-assembled, and includes some stickers, it nevertheless makes it more interactive and worth the import prices paid. Cannot wait to get these to add to my collection!

WINGSABER TOYZ UPCOMING RELEASE: DOTM - Exclusive Dark Nightwatch - DA-15 Jetwing Optimus Prime!

10:26 PM in Black Repaint, DARK OF THE MOON, Japan exclusive, JUST BOUGHT, Latest Addition, nemesis prime, OPTIMUS PRIME

Updates!- New pics.

^Early Christmas Delivery! LOL

Waited patiently for this bad-boy to show up at a local toy-shop some days ago. Managed to get it at  a decent price...cash payment! Have to say pretty stoked with my purchase!

Sorry for the slack in posting, people! Been busy catching up with work and the like. My sincere apologies for not keeping up to date with my blog. Wing-Saber X here with a sneak peek at the already released / soon to be distributed 'Asia' Black Convoy-esque Exclusive Jetwing Leader Class Prime sleek matte black body finish/teal repaint of the Dark Of The Moon mould. The only differences which are obvious is that this release has a lack of 'battle mask' on the head, and has been decked out in chrome foe the jet-pack wings and dual giant Gatling guns/ cannons.  The ever ubiquitous red tinted windows complete the 'Nemesis Prime/ Scourge' look and feel- a label very much associated with exclusive 'black' repaints!-  All that adds to the aesthetically pleasing finish i the mould itself, making it strikingly arresting to the eyes. Also the fact that I have a soft spot for the current Leader Movie  Prime toy - to date I have both the ROTF Crystal and Black Amazon Japan Primes, regular release, plus the Buster Prime Two-pack and DOTM DA-28 Striker Prime (count em- 5 versions!)  This bad-boy is retailing from a minimum of USD$ 190 to USD$ 250!  A 'premium' pricing, but that is the norm for the die-hard collector and Transformer fan nowadays.

Pictures are linked and credited to Hong Kong online toys company Robotkingdom.com.

Planning on getting this release sometime at year end or early next year as the pre-orders have yet to reach Malaysia where I'm at. Since I missed out on the original -decor Jetwing Prime release, this would be a perfect excuse of sorts to splurge on yet another black redeco exclusive release to add to my burgeoning collection.  Stay tuned as I bring updates on the highly potential purchase, people! Also, those Chrome parts/ and wings are the major selling point for me. And yes, for those asking-- I'm going to make it battle my Striker Prime, LOL!  So bought and only recommended for exclusive repaints enthusiasts. A++!

WING SABER TOYZ SPECIAL: D-335 Liokaiser (ライオカイザー Raiokaizā) Giftset (MIB): Arriving Soon!

Victory

^Combined Gestalt mode of All 6 Brestforce members.

• Liocaesar [sic] (Multi-pack, 1989)
  • Japanese ID number: D-335
  • Component members/Accessories: Leozack (Liokaiser head), Drillhorn, Guyhawk, Hellbat, Jallguar (2 missiles), Killbison (2 cannons, combined gun handle)

Released only in Japan, Liokaiser is a unique and highly sought-after combiner. Unlike most other combiners, Liokaiser has almost no "combiner kibble", his feet and hands being built into the component robots. Only his combined-mode head is a separate accessory; even his hand-weapon is assembled from Killbison and Jallguar's extra weapons. However, in this form, the individuals' breastplate-animal partners cannot be stored and must be put aside.

Though his components were all sold as individuals, they were also available in a single Liokaiser box set.

Four of the six components to Liokaiser were used to make the European-exclusive Rescue Force. Unless you are in need of an armless combiner whose head is tiny, you should not attempt to combine them.

WING SABER TOYZ SNEAK PEEK: D-311 DESTRON DARK EMPEROR-, BLACK ZARAK! - Possible Deal?

9:15 PM in Black Repaint, Black Zarak, Chojin Masterforce, Destron, expensive, Highly sought, Holy Grail, Japan exclusive, Possible Deal

My latest plastic crack addition encased in 'black gold' which I will try my

very utmost determination to obtain before the year is over!

I cannot stress how bad-ass this MASTERFORCE DESTRON Dark Emperor is  both his representation in the anime and overall audacity of obtaining his outrageously expensive and rare toy version.  Cant reveal the possible deal for this huge retool and repaint of G1 Scroponok,  out of the respect and utmost secrecy of the potential seller who is intending to seal the deal for me. Here's hoping that before 2012 rolls around, I will have checked this off my Holy Grail of Grails list. Oh boy...what am I getting myself into?!! Only time will tell.  Prices have more then doubled since 5 year ago.. and I have my work cut out!  More Black Zarak here!
