ROARING RAGE: YUUSHA BRAVE SERIES DX CONSTRUCTION COMBINE SYSTEM SUPER BUILD TIGER !!!

Super Build Tiger : Bad A$$!

Hi there, fellow blog readers! This will be my second addition of Brave or Yuusha Series of toys to my ever prosperous collection of Mecha and Robots. Today, I want to feature another classic Brave Series combiner consisting, of a team made up of four construction vehicles --Yeah, I know--until quite recently I have a taste or utter fascination for Construction robots for some reason ! (LOL) As attested by my past blog postings with regards to the Build Team (Car Robots / RID Landfill) and also the Yellow G2- Devastator. The super combiner here today is made up of Three main construction vehicles with unique names, as well as a "power-Up" piece ala God Bomber of Transformers Masterforce-- (short vehicular mode and chunky robot mode)!

Upclose and Personal!

Once fully combined, he is hands down one of the more ascetically pleasing designs ever to grace the Brave series of toy lines. He is none other than the super construction team from the Police J-Decker Yushaa or Brave Series : DX Super Build Tiger!!

Box Front: Sonokong Korean Version

Back of Box

Okay folks, am not really sure about the number of Build Tiger/ Super Build Tiger toy reviews that are available, but I will try and give another detailed review first about the individual members of the construction team, overall vehicular modes; in addition to their regular combined modes , DX Build Tiger and Tiger Gimlet. Last but not least, the final combined for the construction teams' super robot mode and super vehicular mode will be revealed.

Pictures of individual Bots courtesy from a Brave Fan and reviewer, Ronanstalker. Many thanks for your kindness. Zic Panic also is wort a mention as well as a few Japanese blogs for the close up pictures.

Firstly, lets get the ball rolling with a rough look at the teams' main Leader, the super detective which goes by the name of "McCrane"= (apparently, according to some credible Brave sources online, this unique name was done as a sort of a homage to the main hero from the Die Hard series of movies starring none other than the great Bruce Willis as the hard-a$$, no nonsense detective : yup, you guessed it- John McClain)-- cool but odd choice of name.... So here he is!

Leader-
McCrane:

Member of the Build Team that transforms into a hydraulic crane

Basically, McCrane's Hydraulic crane mode pretty much looks like the standard Japanese construction vehicular from the 1990's era, based on assumption simply because the series and robots were designed in that particular era! Well, his vehicular mode is basically a neat looking hydraulic crane with two shades of yellow, gray windows, and of course, a giant crane attached onto its roof.
The crane appendage is extendable and moves up and down, as is the hook piece which can be extended like a wince, as seen in the picture below.

Robot Mode:

When transformed into his robot mode, McCrane is basically a mid sized "brick-ish" and solid looking figure. Because of his rather tight design, his poseability is hindered and only his arms, crane arm are movable. In this mode as well as his vehicular mode, his hydraulic crane arm can be detached--thus giving a slight freedom of movement when he changes into his super-robot component.

Super robot combiner piece

McCrane is essentially the main super robot component of the construction police team.
To transform him, simply pull down the back section of the crane mode to form the mid-section and crotch area, where his main robot feet become the connecting ports for the super-robot legs to be attached. Next, swivel out the crane cockpit area-and pull down the arm extension tot he right, followed by swinging out his super-robot fists in order to complete Super Build Tiger's right arm.

Okay guys and gals, we now can move on swiftly to the second team member who goes by the name of the Kung Fu Detective!

Kung Fu Fighter -
Power Joe:

Member of the Build Team that transforms into a power shovel.

Hi alternate construction vehicular mode is that of a steam shovel. Basically also uniformed molded in yellow plastic, and folded in half from the top. He has clear smoke-gray windows in the shovel cockpit, as well as an extendable shovel extension which moves up and down. Being folded from thr top half allows for the cockpit part to swivel and rotate properly. However, his threads do not move when rolled along the flat surface. Aside from the robot mode hands sticking out to its sides, the construction vehicle mode is not too shabby in my opinion.

Robot Mode

The first thing you notice about Kung Fu Joe's robot mode is that he looks more proportioned in terms of his lower legs, which does split apart. Personally, this is more pleasing on the eye compared to McCrane's robot mode which is essentially Transformer G1-esque -- a giant brick of a toy. Here the threads of the shovel mode lend a nice bulk to his otherwise thin-ish looking legs. Although having a fairly broad and large body, and an outlandish large "shoulder-pad" in the form of his power shovel cockpit--nevertheless, to me it is a fairly decent robot mode. Of all the members, I like the face sculpt of Joe's the most. Classic humanoid-with a hint of creativity in that the front helmet has three grooves, much like the head of a hie vehicle -shovel claw. Interesting design nod going on there. :-)

Super-robot combiner piece

Yup, as expected, Joe's function to the DX Police Construction team is offering his capabilities to transform himself into an important piece in the Super Build Tiger cause, in which he can split the bottom half of his threads, which become Build Tiger's leg add-on's attached behind its heels- in addition to his main robot body can form the left arm piece of the super robot mode.

Okay guys and gals, the next in line to be reviewed is non other than the most gung-ho and not to be messed about member of the group, which goes by the name of :

Super "Strong Man" - Dumpson:
Member of the Build Team that transforms into a dump truck.

"Dumpson" is not really a flattering name for a robot-- but his dump-truck mode is solid
and sturdy. As with both of his buddies , Joe and McCrane, he is mainly made of yellow plastic, while the only difference is perhaps the noticeable solid red back part. As seen in the picture below, his dump truck bed can be moved upwards, while his plastic tyres are movable.

Robot mode

It gives an impression that he is a "muscle-bound" builder type. His chest pieces mimic chest muscles, and his helmet gives off a construction foreman vibe with his helmet. The design also includes some dumbbells for added realism!

Super-robot part

Dumpson, perhaps rather fittingly due to his strong nature and attitude, becomes the support of the combined Super Build Tiger robot mode. He is able to split into half to form the bottom part of Build Tiger's legs.

Tiger Gimlet

Build Tiger/Tiger Gimlet: The combined forms of the Build Team without Drillboy. Build Tiger is a super robot, and the Tiger Gimlet is an elongated composite construction vehicle.

DX Build Tiger or 建設合体ビルドタイガ
: Regular Mode

Birudo Taiga-

The union of the three main DX police Construction vehicles, he can merge into the super-warrior when they are in trouble. (Well, isn't that the written "rule" for most amine which features combiner teams?) LOL! Once fully combined, this is already a pretty big guy indeed--over 18 inches of pure mecha-- symmetrical and looks pretty mean and lean. Overall this is one of the better looking Brave combiners to grace the series. If i thought that Takara Transformers Build King was kickass-- id think id better withdraw that premature statement, and put my hands up in shame: BUILD TIGER is 100 times more kickass and better looking, imposing and beautiful giant mech compared to his transformer incarnation. I should let the pictures speak for themselves! The good aspect is that Build Tiger has some form of poseablilty, leading it to be able to have some limited, nut most definitely dynamic poses!

For me, the super tiger head for Build Tiger is rather dull, so with a bit of Gundam pen marker, Gold and Red, I decided to give this tiger an update of sorts. You will also notice that the arms are swapped -- with McCrane now being the Left arm and Kung Fu Joe now the Right. This was done on purpose becaue of the Super Robot elbow's articulation looks better bending outwards. The Crest and cod-piece were also painted to make the Super Robot stand out better.

Phew! If you thought that Build Tiger was already a kickass combination and exudes uber coolness -- then think again! This is when the DX Construction police team gets some needed power boost! Together with the next and final member, they can combine into the ultimate form of the powerful : SUPER BUILD TIGER!!

Soccer Detective- Drillboy:

A soccer playing member of the Build Team that transforms into a drill tank or drill jet. It has a normal mode and extended wings which can be folded out to reveal his "flight mode". It also has a firing mechanism gun which can be used to launch the soccer balls in both robot and tank drill modes!

Robot mode

Chunky is perhaps the best word to describe Drill Boy's robot shape. As usual, there is a functional purpose for his rather bulky design. You guessed right, he can split up into four major components which can be attached onto the already impressive and ferocious looking Build Tiger. There is a hole in Drill Boy's chest to which has a molded "soccer" ball. ?It is non movable, and sits there to complete his name sake as the "Soccer Detective"! LOL!

The main body hides the Super Tiger Head,
drills folded towards both sides. this piece attaches to Build Tiger's main chest-- giving his more bulk ad a even larger super tiger head. Next are Drill Boy's legs, which are attached to Build Tiger's feet ala God Bomber of Transformers Masterforce-- This gives him an added increase in overall height. As for Joe's threads, it is now attached at the back of Super Build Tiger-- giving it a more bulky uniform look . And lastly, the wings are attaches on Build Tiger's back--making it look like Super God Ginrai's. It also adds a level of imposing stature with the wings-- also a prerequisite for ANY super robot! :-P

Super Tiger Gimlet:

Super Build Tiger/Super Tiger Gimlet: The combined forms of the full Build Team. Super Build Tiger is their super robot form. The Super Tiger Gimlet is an elongated assault vehicle with a front-mounted drill.

LAST BUT NOT FORGOTTEN, IS THE COMBINED FINAL FORM OF BUILD TIGER!!

Choukensetsu Gattai! Su-pa- Birudo Taiga-

VERDICT:

IF YOU ARE A BRAVE FAN, OR REGARDLESS, THIS IS ONE OF THE BETTER VERSIONS OF CLASSIC YUUSHA / BRAVE FROM THE POLICE J-DECKER SERIES WHICH MUST BE ADDED IN YOUR GROWING MECHA COLLECTION. AN INSPIRING, RAW AND KICK-ASS COMBINER WHICH IS UNDER-RATED OR EVEN PASSED OVER BY SOME COLLECTORS. MORE THAN WORTH YOUR MONEY-- ITS A SUPER GEM OF A TOY--EVEN SURPASSING SOME OF THE CONSTRUCTION VEHICULAR COMBINERS OUT THERE. DEVASTATOR WHO?!!!
