Transformers Prime RID AM-15 Darkness Megatron (Official Images0 from Amazon Japan!

UPDATED in box pics! Toy arrived, together with two Jet Vehicons sometime two weeks ago.  Very shiny....!

In person his chromed parts, while random and looking somewhat rather 'unfinished' - only his chest and shoulders are chromed, It's actually quite tastefully done and serves as a collector-edition type toy.

Figure King Japanese toy/ hobby Magazine July feature!

Takaratomy's rendition of the main Villain of the Decepticons from the Transformers Prime animated CG show is to be released sometime end of the month in July. Major differences from Hasbro version, is of course the addition of shiny paint apps, some neat stickers and TWO Arms Microns/ One a Bat Arms Micron- which transforms into a Scythe and Winged jet pack, and the other a standard Gorilla/ Arm Cannon. Price is approx USD $50.

WINGSABER TOYZ UPCOMING RELEASE: DOTM - Exclusive Dark Nightwatch - DA-15 Jetwing Optimus Prime!

Updates!- New pics.

^Early Christmas Delivery! LOL

Waited patiently for this bad-boy to show up at a local toy-shop some days ago. Managed to get it at  a decent price...cash payment! Have to say pretty stoked with my purchase!

Sorry for the slack in posting, people! Been busy catching up with work and the like. My sincere apologies for not keeping up to date with my blog. Wing-Saber X here with a sneak peek at the already released / soon to be distributed 'Asia' Black Convoy-esque Exclusive Jetwing Leader Class Prime sleek matte black body finish/teal repaint of the Dark Of The Moon mould. The only differences which are obvious is that this release has a lack of 'battle mask' on the head, and has been decked out in chrome foe the jet-pack wings and dual giant Gatling guns/ cannons.  The ever ubiquitous red tinted windows complete the 'Nemesis Prime/ Scourge' look and feel- a label very much associated with exclusive 'black' repaints!-  All that adds to the aesthetically pleasing finish i the mould itself, making it strikingly arresting to the eyes. Also the fact that I have a soft spot for the current Leader Movie  Prime toy - to date I have both the ROTF Crystal and Black Amazon Japan Primes, regular release, plus the Buster Prime Two-pack and DOTM DA-28 Striker Prime (count em- 5 versions!)  This bad-boy is retailing from a minimum of USD$ 190 to USD$ 250!  A 'premium' pricing, but that is the norm for the die-hard collector and Transformer fan nowadays.

Pictures are linked and credited to Hong Kong online toys company Robotkingdom.com.

Planning on getting this release sometime at year end or early next year as the pre-orders have yet to reach Malaysia where I'm at. Since I missed out on the original -decor Jetwing Prime release, this would be a perfect excuse of sorts to splurge on yet another black redeco exclusive release to add to my burgeoning collection.  Stay tuned as I bring updates on the highly potential purchase, people! Also, those Chrome parts/ and wings are the major selling point for me. And yes, for those asking-- I'm going to make it battle my Striker Prime, LOL!  So bought and only recommended for exclusive repaints enthusiasts. A++!

Welcome once again to my followers from around the world to another random blog post by your truly Adam! Today's purchase is another of those sorts where a good mecha design is just the perfect way to start the month, even the more better when the payment for the neat toy won't be registered for yet another month or so!

CODE GEASS?!

Now, admittedly, I am not such a fan of those really 'girly'/ bishonen  type of main-stay character designs from some of the churned and tested Anime productions so churlish made and produced in abundance year after year -- no offense to all the female fans of this genere out there! LOL!-- but sometimes the main character does not always take center stage to said dramatic effect. Some of these lame excuse for a real solid show (cant you see that I am all for the more violent, philosophical and more endearing old school Mecha Anime?!)   but thankfully, there is plenty of mecha- on  mecha carnage and fast paced action sequences in this Code-Geass  anime that is the actual saving grace when it comes to barely summing up the patience to sit through a non-discript and unimpressive anime like the above title. The main hero's mecha which glows in it's all powerful and god-like (aren't they all?!) mecha aka Knightmare Frame also known as the final form / 9th Generation : LANCELOT ALBION- has once again inspired Bandai Japan to design a real solidly made Robot Tamashii/ Spirits incarnation.  This is the first version made, with the second and more bigger and 're-imagined K.A. aka Katoke Hajime Ver which was released recently this year.

LANCELOT ALBION!

The speedy and powerful, graceful Lancelot Albion is more than a match for his tough enemies, as seen here in this YouTube link.

Lancelot

"The Lancelot (ランスロット Ransurotto?), named after Sir Lancelot of the Knights of the Round Table, is an experimental prototype seventh-generation custom Knightmare Frame developed by Lloyd Asplund and the Military Engineering Corps. It is the personal Knightmare Frame of Knight of Seven Suzaku Kururugi. It is the first seventh generation Knightmare Frame ever fielded. The Lancelot outperforms most other models thanks to the heavy amount of sakuradite scattered throughout its frame as well as in its Yggdrasil Drive, the Core Luminous. The same enhancements also make it difficult to pilot; while Suzaku can control it with ease, Lloyd notes that most of the test pilots could barely make it move. As it is still in development, the Lancelot lacks an ejection system.

The Lancelot serves as a test bed for experimental technologies, and as such has a wide array of armaments. It has two retractable Factspheres affixed on its chest (earlier models have a single, head-mounted unit), two forearm-mounted energy shields called the Blaze Luminous, and four Slash Harkens (two on its wrists and two on its hips). These Slash Harkens have experimental thrusters called Harken Boosters which can improve their speed and allow them to change direction midflight. It also sports a pair of Maser Vibration Swords. It carries a VARIS particle rifle (Variable AmmunitionRepulsion Impact Spitfire) which can adapt its projectile repulsion output to any situation. The Lancelot is also the first Knightmare equipped with a backpack-like Float System; however, the power usage of the Float System is astronomical. When equipped with the Float System, it is redesignated as Lancelot Air Cavalry."

FINAL SAY:-

Easily one of the best Robot Tamashii Figures out there, the Lancelot Albion figure come with the usual signature Weapons, interchangeable hands and other interesting extras like the extended slash harkens/ blades to add to the overall figure's playability. I may not be familliar with the whole Anime storyline nor the rest of tis plot/ characters and mecha, but the graceful and sleek design on the Lancelot Albion is  a decent buy if you are a great admirer of all tings MECHA! A!

DARK SOUL: JAPAN TOY HOBBY MARKET EXCLUSIVE! TRANSFORMERS HENKEI GENTEI DARK SKYFIRE!!

A very good day to all my trusted followers and bloggers from around the world! Firstly, I would like to extend my sincere apologies for not keeping up by posting any note-worthy Transformer acquisitions recently on my blog, as it has essentially  been  a VERY tiring April month, filled with rest and alot of changes to the working and personal space. Well, better late than never to kick-start the month of May 2010, as  yours truly WSX prepares (once again)  to get back on track and groove --LOL! with yet another awesome release by the folks at ToyHobbyMarket Japan!

I had an eye on this exclusive "Destron/ Decepticon" version of the Autobot Flight Commander-Scientist Jetfire sometime ago when it was first previewed in the closing months of 2009. The initial pre-orders were up in November 09'-- however, thanks to some online scouting and good buyer sense -or sheer luck-LOL! I was able to track down this Japan Black repaint at only US$35 a pop! Decided there and then that I would be wise to purchase multiple quantities of this toy, as the likelihood of it being extremely rare collector's edition item was stuck in the back of my mind... The Items arrived on a good afternoon sometime last month on the 26th of March, all snugged up in bubble wrap and just waiting to be ripped open!

The initial promotional shots of Takaratomy's webpage had depicted that Gentei Dark Skyfire would have a more "muted" gray colour scheme, which IMHO was just fine as far as being a different version of the Autobot character all together...Most Transfans are aware of Jetfire's Decepticon past, and it was explored to good effect in the Revenge of The Fallen live-action movie form last year's summer blockbuster by action-director Michael Bay...(A decent effort I thought of a movie)..Moving on-- however, more recently, there have been newer photos of this Dark Skyfire in his final paint scheme which has bee circulating on the internet-- this time showing that the initial grey-ish combination was somewhat been replaced by a more dark and "sombre" black colour scheme. Prefect! The box design is akin to the regular Jetfire release, albeit with a monochrome style which, to be  honest is stylized but not to shabby.

The translated tech-spec, pictures and character bio is credited and linked to resident Japan news-hound "Masabon" from the tfw2005.com ultra resource site, as well as www.kotoys.com/ seibertron.com!

Many sincere thanks to the both of them!

ROBOT MODE

Essentially a straight-up repaint of the Henkei/ Classics white and re-imagining of how (supposedly) Jetfire's Decepticon/Destron past was before he choose the path of goodness to become a piece-loving and freedom fighting Autobot. It works great, especially the minor Destron/Decepticon insignia detailing on the wings of Dark Skyfire. Of note is to mention that for this release,  the folks at Toy Hobbymarket had the good sense to add a slight "remould" to his chest/ cockpit area. Gone is the top portion where the "Autobot insignia" was on good ol' Jetfire, and in place, this is now made into a two-piece translucent plastic-- dark green glow- lends to the sense of "eeriness" or well, to bluntly put it, a tall, "dark" and ominous figure! LOL! A+ for the effort, which makes a heck of an aesthetic and make-believe evil "past character" vibe.

"BATTLE-DROID" MODE

Essentially, his repainted face and maroon eyes are a really attractive combination. Good on the eyes, and oh oozes an intrinsic "evil" charm. The green visor on the matching helmet is a neat touch, giving the battle mode a sense of  being an all-powerful and conquering BAD-A$$! A+

VEHICULAR/ PLANE MODE

Apart from the different-Decepticon purple inspired jetpack/ twin-cannons, not to mention the "gunmetal" painted chromed thrusters, the overall combination of black on purple does not dissapoint. The little detailing of the "Air Force" markings by the side of the cockpit shows that the makers set out to tie in Dark Skyfire's military/ infantry Air Commander past, and this is pulled of even more stylishly and "realistically" when he is transformed into his devastatingly stealthy and natural aerial mode. Love the overall plane mode than his robot mode! A++

FINAL THOUGHTS:

WELL, THIS IS A WELL EXECUTED REPAINT OF AN ALREADY COOL UPDATE ON A CLASSIC CHARACTER. GRANTED, AS WITH MOST "DARK" REPAINTS AKA EXCLUSIVES, THERE ARE ALWAYS THOSE WHO ARE NOT REALLY INTO IT, AND THOSE WHO CAN EMBRACE IT. FOR ME, AT LEAST, THIS IS A PERFECT RENDITION OF JETFIRE'S EVIL DECEPTICON PAST, AND ONE WORTHY ADDITION TO KEEP AND SAVOR. A+++
