the details for this massively anticipated toy can be summed up below: Text linked sourced and credited to my fave site ever for all things Transformers: TFW2005!  

What a list of kick ass features, not to mention the payment and price for the initial batches of MP-09 Rodimus Convoy/ Prime seems justifiable given the complexity and real bulk of the toy. It transforms and morphs seamlessly from Hot Rod form -- a scrawny bot -- into the hulking and imposing Leader / Commander that is Rodimus Prime!  Id say that the folks at Takaratomy really did out-do

 themselves this time round!! Although in my earlier preview, I have mentioned previously that the Rodimus character has no affinity to my personal liking, however the mere coolness factor and like so many have mentioned before-- it's the latest greatest Masterpiece toy to be released for a long while, really makes it worth the trouble  getting one just ot add in your collection! A++

"Following on from the new images of Masterpiece MP-9 Rodimus Convoy the other day, we have even more new images of Masterpiece Rodimus to share with you. First of all there are some nice higher-resolution versions of the pics from earlier this week, along with some more official images showing off Rodimus' poseability and the rear of his vehicle mode.These have been popping up on retailers and hobby sites all over the net, including on AmiAmi and on Ngee Khiong.

But that's not all. A big montage of images has been posted over on Otacute, showcasing the many features and accessories of Takara-Tomy's next Masterpiece. The features showcased include:
- Opening chest compartment for the Matrix.
- Ability to be posed opening the Matrix, Transformers the Movie style.
- Face transformation system is demonstrated in a series of step-by-step images.
- Double jointed knees - Rodimus can sit down on his knees, in a replication of a pose he was drawn in during Season 3.
- Buzzsaw attachment for Rodimus' arm.
- Repair tool attachment for Rodimus' arm.
- Flip-down visor to go over Rodimus' eyes.
- Rifle is confirmed to disassemble into two pistols for Hot Rod.

Hey there my fellow blog followers from the world over! It's another one of those 

'upcoming' and anticipated toy  release posts for today. Looking at the recent coverage of all the latest Masterpiece Transformers news release over the past week, I must say that good ol' Adam here needs another writing fix, even it's just merely a 'filler' post. Call it lazy blogging or whatever, but the fact that so many of the fandom has been having mixed feelings -- more often negatively looking at the minor details of just how the resin prototype of the latest addition to the highly collectible MP-09 Hot Rodimus/ Rodimus Prime Masterpiece toy, really gets my blood somewhat boiling out of minor frustration!! LOL. 

Going back to the recent picture and news, credited to tfw2005 and HKTF, the design and little cult' nuances to the 1986 Animated movie -- such as the 'high vision binocular / visor' briefly deployed in the now iconic and revered 1986 Movie, shows that the designers are mindful of his role in  Transformers lore, however disagreeable in the eyes of the fandom. IMHO, they have made a solid and intricate transformation scheme, very much like the animated model of the Rodimus Prime transformation scheme which utilizes his 'Winnebago' trailer / command base. Kudos to them for that. Throw in a really kickass and realistically sculpted face , it  adds to the overall coolness factor! Awesome!

AN UNLIKED CHARACTER?

Lets face it, the bottom line is that the Rodimus Prime character was never really written in a positive light especially when it came to the American Seasons 3 and 4 of the cartoon series. Hot rod wasn't much of an inspirational Prime-type either. Indecisive and unstable decisions under his stewardship of the Autobots are  some of the major reasons that he is somewhat not really a personal cult favorite for some fans. There was more of his misadventures in the later Japanese Headmasters continuity. Personally, I am more into the toy design and overall quality and collector's value that into the overall Character of the toy when it comes to those so-called 'flawed' and often criticized characters. Just be glad that we are spoilt for choice, and fellow transfans should rejoice that a new Masterpiece toy is upon us!

MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE!!

There is a debate and yet to be confirmed conclusion as to the exact height of this stunning

 and latest design. Judging from the prototype resin above, the intricate transformation might be even more challenging that that of Masterpiece Grimlocks'. The neat touch is that the homage paid to the original Generation One toy is pretty much still in tact, and more so now that toy engineering has

 officially reached the levels of  mind-boggling complexity. Also, while not confirmed, the amount of die-cast will play a pivotal role in justifying the really high price tag of an estimated USD $200-- That's on par with the Mp04 re-release of Convoy/ Optimus, but with the added bulk and trailer attached. Hmm, we shall see....

While intriguing to some fans, I would like to adopt a wait and see approach on the path this release is going to take-- opinions and message-boards dedicated to very solid and honest debates on just how justifiable the final product is, must be taken into consideration all the time by the discerning fan. Budget and earmarked for the future release date of Jan 2011, but most likely bought at a later date-- possibly Feb/March if funds permit me. AS I am not really a fan of the Rodimus Prime character, there might be other releases during that period which will be more important to get.

This news was received sometime ago via Japanese informer insider,  who goes by the pseudonym snakas through his Twitter account. The awesome news was also posted on my most favorite source for Transformers news, the uber fan-site TFW2005.com. 

BRUTAL COMBINER!

Recently posted to the Twitter account of @snakas is a new image of a reissue Predaking. This image shows Predaking standing next to aTransformers 2010 placecard, with more promotional art behind it.

This Predaking appears to have gold paint apps in place of the yellow parts from the original release. The place card states that it is 15,750 yen, which is roughly $179 USD. No more is known about this piece at this time, or when we may be able to get our hands on it.

FINAL THOUGHTS

A must-get reissue for me, since the first one remade in 2004 was never bought. Prices for the original vintage Predaking has reached crazy proportions, but this newer version, albeit   not being officially announced by Takaratomy, is a sure fire hit and will sell like hot-cakes. I know prices will soar due to it's exclusive shinier go;d/ copper repainted parts. The combined mode looks like a brutish monster, and hopefully, tis release will include metal feet for the individual Predacons. Oh hell yes! It's a great time to be a Transformer fan!

Hi there, folks, just another mini-blog post for you guys. Just a little gentle update for the uninitiated,  Takara Tomy has launched a campaign to commemorate the year 2010, with a series of special edition toys. The latest God Primus 2010 Edition ; to match and counter the evil Unicron. 

Although the special edition Primus is a just a mere repaint of the already released Cybertron/Galaxy Force Primus, it is still a very beautiful and eye catching piece, as per the official shots just released.  and will be exclusive to Japan Toyhobby Market The pre-order is starting from 24th June till 1st August 2010. The toy is expected to be delivered at the end of October 2010. 

PRIMUS IS CYBERTRON'S MANIFESTATION?!

"Primus is the creator-god of the Transformers. An ancient and ethereal being whose origins date back to the beginnings of the universe itself, Primus is a cosmos, space and universal force for good, his life force existing across multiple realities and infinite alternate universes. Hi there folks! Well, it looks like an increasing certainty that the year 2010 would become one of the most "celebrated" time as far as us Transformers community are concerned! 

Takaratomy, the ever omni-present Japanese half that is responsible for the birth and idea of the beloved transforming mecha is at it once again. Not sometime ago, there was the novel idea of releasing some uber-important iterations of the Japan-themed release from the 1986 series: "Fight! Super Robot Life Transformers 2010"

As it was previously reported, the background behind the Takara- Tomy Campaign was to, IMHO, give fans of the series a more "anime" or 1986 Movie accurate" representation of the Giant and malevolent destroyer of all life of Planets: Unicron. 







PRELIMINARY INFORMATION: 

ToyHobby Market has revealed that they will be exclusively selling the TakaraTomy re-release of the Unicron figure. As previously reported, the figure will have a new head sculpt. 

The figure will be redecorated in colors closely resembling the character's Generation 1 counterpart and, as expected, will be released under Takara's2010 campaign.

Pre-orders will take place from June 4 to July 4, 2010 with release in late September, and will run you about 10,500 Yen (~$177 USD) / 




FINAL THOUGHTS: 

--HMM...IT SHOULD WORK OUT APPROX RM 420 EACH. PRICEY, BUT PRETTY REASONABLE; THOUGH IT'S JUST A STRAIGHT UP RETOOLED HEAD AND NEW COLOR. NOT GOING TO PRE-ORDER IT JUST YET, BUT ITS ONE OF THOSE THINGS I GUESS, TO DECIDE TO BUY IT. WE SHALL SEE1 RIGHT NOW, ITS JUST ONE STOCK PHOTO, AND ALTHOUGH I MUST ADMIT THAT I AM PRETTY UN-ATTACHED TO THE UNICRON CHARACTER, THE FACT IS THAT I DON'T EVEN OWN THE ARMADA/ SUPERLINK VERSION FROM WHICH THIS LIMITED EDITION IS RETOOLED FROM. B+?
