WING SABER TOYZ UPCOMING RELEASE: TRANSFORMERS ANIMATED RODIMUS PRIME = HYPER HOBBY EXCLUSIVE =(Black Ver.!) EVIL CLONE!

9:46 PM in , , , , , ,

Hey there folks! Welcome once again to the humble abode of yours truly Adam aka WSX!
I sincerely and really do apologize for letting my blog post count dwindle in the past few weeks, and thus, today Id like to make up for the slack in not posting by previewing an outstanding black repaint which would be released sometime next year in 2011, which I am pretty sure, price wise it would be elevated to astronomical proportions: read Shattered Glass and TF classics Henkei Wildrider from a couple of years back. We certainly wouldn't want that fiasco  to happen again, now would we?!

TFW2005 ROCKS (Again!)

The awesome reveal that this beautiful Hyper Hobby repaint has seen the light of day on most of the major Transformers related websites is undoubtedly, a watershed moment for those who have been pining for physical evidence ever since it was announced sometime in the middle of the year. All pictures are credited to the awesome people at TFW2005.com. Kindly read the following news story for more info here! Also, the Japanese online shop tokuma-ec.com has kindly put up a pre-order of sorts.

BLACK STRIKES AGAIN!!

Knowing the potential madness for all black repaints to become very sought after items after a period of time, I was mindful that after missing out on some previously released 'token' Japanese exclusives, I would not have to endure another episode of missing out on this type of item ever again! Que the savior that is none other than Bodhar2000! He has once again delivered when things matters the most in terms of scouring all over the Land of the Rising Sun, Japan for those really hard to find and limited quantity toys. Get your orders in ASAP! Just email your friendly seller and all round ace of a guy, Bodhar2000 and he'll help you out to get you guys one! You wont be disappointed, and IMHO, the overall feel of colours used, especially the light teal/purple and black/silver and gold highlights just screams classic 'evil' clone repaint. It looks menacing completed with uber-black face and red-plastic piping eyes. Awesome!!

EVIL PERSONIFIED!!

The translated bio for this Evil Clone is credited to the Allspark forum.

BIO and SPEC
----------
ディセプティコン暗黒司令官：ブラックロディマス
DECEPTICON DARKNESS COMMANDER: BLACK=RODIMUS

座右の銘/MOTTO(?)
『すべては闇から生まれ、闇に帰るのだ！』
All comes out of darkness and comes back in darkness!

"MEGATRON used a fragment of ALLSPARK and a cloning technique of STARSCREAM and thought to produce newly excellent soldiers. In that way born BLACKRODIMUS catches the mission to cross out RODIMUS of the same figure. BLACKRODIMUS thinking that oneself deserves to be a leader of DECEPTICON crosses out genuine RODIMUS in the beginning and intends to take over his team!"

FINAL THOUGHTS!

The concept for repaints all things black isn't exactly all that new, but there are few toy lines which do this so well, apart from well heck, scratch that-- the bottom line is that one might be forgiven to shun this particular toy, especially if one is not a fan of the Animated Line/ toy designs. However, you have been warned! Pass this at your own peril and not to mention an aching heart and wallet! His kick-ass factor is that not only is this a Magazine Exclusive, his back-story and weapon of choice (powered up, by what I presume to be 'Dark' Energon)-- red tinted windows and the stoic colours chosen represent a really excellent repaint of the already awesome good guy Rodimus deluxe figure! It's release is more, much more than meets the eye!! Buy it if you can still get the pre-orders form online stores! A++

WING SABER TOYZ SPECIAL: - TRANSFORMERS ANIMATED = トランスフォーマー アニメイテッド TA33 ロディマス = HOT RODIMUS! ELITE COMMANDER!

10:34 PM in , , , , ,

Hi there boys and girls! Welcome, welcome to yet another random post and blog of the passionate Transformer and toy collector Adam aka WingSaberX!  Today we are looking at specifically, the brilliant and intuitive Transformers Animated timeline, where the wise creator of the animation models- (the uber talented Mr.Derrick J. Wyatt ) -- has made this incarnation of the Hot Rodimus Character into a real team-player and  a tough as nails type of leader. He's got a bow and Energon arrows for a weapon! Talk about channeling  a 'Robin-Hood' archetype! Far from the indecisive, whining  and inexperienced portrayal in the original Transformers series.  Just stopped off one of my favorite haunts for scouring a great buy- Amcorp Mall flea market. Had no particular reason to go there other than to try and find another decently priced buy (Am winding up my purchases of Vintage Japanese Transformers for the time being till the year is up! and just focusing on neat little releases that is much more easier on the wallet! LOL!  ) and get one of the most eagerly anticipated Animated releases to grace the market.

Rodimus Minor is a character who appeared in season 3 of the Transformers Animated series. He is an homage to the Generation 1 version of the characterHot Rod.[2] He wields an energon bow-and-arrow weapon of his own design.[3] On March 31, 2009, Derrick J. Wyatt, lead Transformers Animated Character Designer posted an image of Rodimus' vehicle mode, which is described as a futuristic muscle car that is mostly based on a 2008 Dodge Challenger with some elements of a 1969 Ferrari Daytona. This was revealed at the 2009 BotCon where Hasbro released an action figure of Rodimus Minor. It showed that the 2008 Dodge Challenger parts of Rodimus' vehicle mode were mostly based on the back, top, and sides of the vehicle, while the 1969 Ferrari Daytona parts were found in the front of the vehicle, most notably, the headlights.
Actor Judd Nelson, who originally voiced Hot Rod/Rodimus Prime in The Transformers: The Movie reprised his role as this character.
Rodimus Minor leads an Autobot crew consisting of Red Alert, Ironhide, Hot Shot and Brawn.

TRANSFORM AND ROLL OUT!

Transformation of this toy is pretty simplistic, nothing too complex. Just flip out both doors to reveal his arms, and rotate and swivel upwards and click into place, releasing his fists. Next,  release the foot peg and divide the legs from his underside- Next, just lift his hood up to reveal his head, in addition to flipping his front engine to show his Autobot insignia. Clip the back car top and flip up his spoiler, tabbing it firmly into place. Bring his legs downwards and rotate his hips to the front, and then Second last step, then you must clip in the side of the lower legs into each pegs to straighten and extend a pair of (rather spindly looking) legs! finally, his side exhaust pipes that at are on his thighs are lifted upwards and clipped into place to finish the Rodimus robot mode. Thanks Peaugh!

Fun Publications

Rodimus's biography was printed in issue #24 of the Transformers Collectors Club magazine. He is described as a young prodigy, the "chosen one", who is
expected to become the next Magnus in record time.

Animated series

Rodimus was seen in the season 3 "Transwarped" special, leading his team in defending a Space Bridge from Strika's "Team Chaar". His team was overwhelmed, and Rodimus is infected with Cosmic Rust, courtesy of Oil Slick, putting him out of commission. According to Derrick J. Wyatt, Rodimus is back on Cybertron de-rusting. He can later be seen on Cybertron cheering for Optimus Prime and his crew for defeating the Decepticons in "Engame, Part II".

Toys

Animated Rodimus Minor was released in the US as a Toys "R" Us store exclusive long after the series went off the air in 2010.[4] The figure comes with an Energon bow and arrow and the figure's vehicle mode engine block can be flipped to show the Autobot insignia.[5] In Japan he was released in metallic finish, and also in a clean plastic version ala the Animated 'Sons of Cybertron' two-pack release with the Deluxe mould of Cybertron Optimus Prime.

FINAL SAY:

The packaging for all Japanese toy releases is always showcases a neat design and alot of cool graphics. I like the way these 'toys' -- so called -- are presented at the back of the packaging showing a realism of an action / battle poses.  The Takaratomy repaint in his signature and shiny maroon colors are sharp and very interesting, but not really surprising since the recent trend of toys released have always had a touch of panache and collectability on them. Get this toys for your TF: Animated collection, only because of his G1 homage in his  both his robot and car mode.
Oh, and shiny paint rocks! A+

WING SABER TOYZ UPCOMING RELEASE:- TRANSFORMERS ANIMATED JAPAN WINGBLADE OPTIMUS PRIME! TRANSPARENT AND COOL!

6:32 PM in , , , , , , ,

A very warm welcome to another 'hap-hazardous' published post
for the first week of September 2010!  This is Adam here writing to my fellow readers out there! Thanks sincerely for taking time off and visiting my blog! Today's exciting news has to coincide with yet another exclusive Japan only release of the previously noted and imminent last few churning out from the ever popular (some Transfans would agree to disagree! LOL!) -- Transformers Animated line of toys, which despite ending it's syndicated USA Cartoon Network run sometime last year, still manages to keep things interesting and fresh in the collecting line. IMHO, the more the better, Id say!

JAPAN IS ICHIBAN!  #1!!

"Once again, Takara is cashing in on the Transformers Animated fans that have waiting on Hasbro to finish the Animated toy line. The newest figure to be released by Takara Tomy will be Wingblade Optimus Prime, a Voyager class figure representing Optimus Prime in the Transformers Animated cartoon finale. He wields a jet pack and the hammer of Ultra Magnus. Courtesy of Tekmen of TFW2005 who was at the International Tokyo Toy Show - check out Wingblade Optimus Prime below! "

Lets face the 'facts', shall we? The Japanese toy makers really know what it takes to make most of us rabid 'rational' toy collectors craving to spend our hard earned cash on those mainly plastic transforming addictions. Not only are they boxed and packaged in a very 'collector' friendly --loose term-- manner, but in addition, those toys have even more spiffy and neat finishing to the paint applications. For the uninitiated, when Takaratomy took charge of revamping the Animated toy line, the crafty (god bless!!) and kind-hearted folks decide to up the ante by repainting the toys with the now customary ' glossy metallic paint'-- thus accentuating the overall feel and quality of the individual toys. Some collectors are not too keen on the extra mile that Japanese makers painstakingly goes through to make the toy more marketable, while i'm very sure the majority of us who are more inclined to accept and embrace the uniqueness. Oh well more gained than loss for us!

WHAT THE....MORE CLEAR PRIMES?!
Granted, some of us out there have been rather happy peeved  (well, not me that is!) that there is a sudden 'infiltration', if you will-- of a large number of Japan-only toy exclusives being released in the past couple of years alone only. The Optimus Prime character in the Japanese Animated line has not yet achieved his "Jet-Blade" aka Power-Up mode as yet on the show, but already Takaratomy has called dibs by planning to release a very beautiful, if not rather commonly rehashed Prime mould to be ready for world-wide roll-out and distribution by the end of Sept 2010. That's only a couple of weeks away, and the online Transformers community has been singing nothing but positive praises for this particular special release. The backpack can be separated and  the additional parts can be snapped on the Voyager Prime figure to give it an overall anime-accurate look and feel. It somehow resembles- albeit vaguely-- a really neat homage of sorts to a special character from the past series-- the one and only God Ginrai! Bonus points for the makers, too-- in that they made it an attractive fun-play value to the figure. Simple yet ingenious!

Just placed a preliminary 'pre-order' with  HK -Japanese specialty website etoysjapan.com and I cant say that I have any regrets! All I have to do is be patient till it reaches my dirty little hands! LOL!
FINAL SAY

The additional booster-back pack is a wonderful homage and makes a heck of a display on any collector's shelve. Since this Wingblade Prime is going for the cheap/ although it is being touted as a common release, somehow I feel that personally, since the release will be Japan-only, not to mention in clear plastic ' crystal' as well, the scaplers might end up having a field day of sorts by jacking up the initial release sales price. I for one will not be foolish enough to stick around for that to eventually happen! Mark my words! Get is while the hype is still manageable or else you will have to pay through your teeth sometime in  the next couple of months! Highly recommended! A+
