Hi guys and girls! Just a quick update about the ongoing Tokyo Toy show 2012 which is currently under way in Japan right now! There are the latest updates concerning upcoming Takaratomy products which have captured the excitement of many fans, however chiefly myself - along with the scores of Transformer fans from the world around are eagerly anticipating the inevitable release of the new and awesome Masterpiece toy, MP-13 Soundwave! Also as these pictures show, MP-13 will come bundled with a plethora of goodies, and as an added bonus, there will be mini-masterpiece iterations for his loyal Cassette minions, chiefly MP-Ravage, MP Frenzy/ rumble and MP-Laserbeak/Buzzsaw! Personally, I think Takaratomy's toy designers and engineers have outdone themselves and delivered a stunning product, one which was a long time coming after being initially beaten to the punch by Third-Party makers for a proper and justifiable Soundwave masterpiece toy. Well done, guys! In addition to the awesome MP Soundwave and MP-12 Sideswipe/ Red Alert news, there is also a glimpse of the aforementioned Tokyo Toy Show exclusive Clear/ Shining Optimus Prime (TF; Prime First Edition) .Just some preview pics, all liked and credited to their appropriate sourec/es for you to enjoy! Introductions are in order...

12:39 PM in flywheels, Random Toy Reviews, Transformers

Hi.  My name is flywheels.  I'm an avid Transformers collector from South Carolina.  I've been a fan since '84 and collecting (again) since 1994.  Over the years I've been able to amass quite a collection spanning G1 to all the current series.  By no means am I a completionist however...I just try sticking to buying what I like.

I'm a huge fan of G1 and if you couldn't figure out by my name I'm a fan of the Duocon Flywheels.  In my collection I have a loose, complete Flywheels, MIB Flywheels, AFA MISB Flywheels, MIB Japanese Flywheels and MIB Japanese Kabaya kit Flywheels.  I'm currently in search of the brightly colored KO of Flywheels.

I'm also a big Mini-Con / Micron collector.  I've been known to buy toys specifically for the Mini-Con / Micron that was packed in!  I can't afford to do that near as much now though.  That said I'm really loving the new Arms Micron series from Japan.  Sure the whole sticker thing is a little odd in this day and age, but the new Microns are fantastic.

Wingsaber asked me write posts on his blog going forward so I gladly accepted his invitation.  At this point I'm still trying to figure out future topics.  If you have any suggestions or want me to review a toy in my own collection I can be reached at flywheels at yahoo . com or over on my own blog, Random Toy Reviews.

Botcon 2012 Box Set Art Revealed!

5:19 PM in Botcon 2012, Classics, convention exclusives, NOT YET RELEASED, Shattered Glass, Transformers

Hey folks! Uber Transformers site TFW2005 just front-paged a very awesome first-hand look at Botcon 2012's box art for the Transformers Timeline : Invasion collectors edition boxed set of 6 homage-centric packed toys.

Pic linked credited to Collection.Org.

Brief Description: ''The Transformers Facebook page has updated again today with our first look at the boxart for this years Botcon 2012 boxset! The Invasion boxset will contain Shattered Glass versions of; Ultra Magnus, Soundwave, Tracks and Treadshot with Classics versions of Gigatron and Metalhawk. The boxset is only available to Primus package holders or non-attendee Iacon package holders. ''

The fact that most nostalgic Transformers : Japan continuity fans from the Masterforce series are getting all new ( somewhat mixed feelings) homage of the Destruction Emperor : Overlord and the noble, white-knight Autobot Earth Commander: Pretender Metalhawk, is enough of a good excuse to own the whole set itself.

WING SABER TOYZ SPECIAL: MY FIRST NEWSPAPER ARTICLE! HOPEFULLY MANY MORE TO COME?!

9:20 PM in Clove Man, News Article, Random Thoughts, The Star, Transformers

Hey there, ppls! Just a quick blog post on my first published article which was featured in the local Newspaper The Star Clove Man section, dated (Sunday)- 7th November 2010. Had actually wrote this particular article sometime ago-- last August to be exact,  and the kind editor of said section had agreed to accept my piece to be featured under the title: "More Than Meets The Eye!" A fitting title to celebrate my unabashed passion about writing and blogging about the uber collectors' series of plastic toys known as Transformers. Sure, the article is by no means  perfect, but IMHO, it sums up the overall gist of thoughts and emotions when talking passionately for my collection and how it generally brings a sense of accomplishment and pride.  I gotta admit that, writing your ''virgin'' article for any form of  printed media can be a rather soothing process, or in my case, a creative outlet of sorts. From the deep recesses of my mind, the ideas and natural flow stems from  the set of wonderful memories I had as a child growing up with utter bliss and a boat-load of toys!  There was loads of imaginative and a good creative outlet when playing as a kid with some of the Transformers toys I had. Ahh, good times!!

As one grows older, sometimes they loose their zest and passion for the simple things and  pleasures in their adult lives.  Id like to end this blog post by paraphrasing a line of thought from the article:- " At the end of the day, seeing these highly sought-after collectibles have a rather calming effect on the soul. Bottom line, is you've got the means to pursue your passion which brings happiness, and then by all means go for it!"
