Salutations to my fellow readers as well as followers from around the world! Sincere thanks and gratitude for taking the time to drop by my humble blog. Yes, its WSX here, in for another dose of  random rants and musings about the growing list of collectibles in their dusty boxes...which are piling up on my shelve! LOL! Id figure that since the Lunar New Year was around the corner, my finances should be sufficient enough with the additional "Ang Pow" (or red packets of paper filled with some cash), which represents a centuries old Chinese Tradition handed out to those who are young and un-married.  Dont worry, I have already singled out the contribution from my parents' and will put it in the piggy-bank for safe keeping!

It is indeed a good feeling of sorts-when you are able to find a rare Japanese 1980's early 1990's boxed Transformers when scouring through ebay-- just as I did, still in a fairly pristine MIB condition with its stickers applied. Id figure that most of us are resigned to the sober fact that as long as the contents of the box are considerably OK-- then it is deemed acceptable by your standards. Thus, it is my pleasure to present a little musing of the God Masterforce Transformers warrior and the first Cho-Jin(God Master) that was discovered by God Ginrai :

Am still waiting for C-304 God Master Lightfoot to arrive on my doorstep, and will always be a man of my word by taking MY OWN pictures of the Vintage gem once I get my hands on it, MOST LIKELY AFTER THE Chinese New Year PERIOD! Mean time, the place-holder pictures are taken directly (with permission of course), from the seller whom i bought this awesome toy off ebay from, none other than RedStarRobot / Mr. Robert Chism and also www.tfuinfo.com. In addition, the translation of Lightfoot's Tech specs are credited to soundwavesoblivion.com. Many thanks and sincere gratitude goes out to them! Cheers! It is worth noting that both Lightfoot and the American Getaway share the same physical shape/ car but are totally different characters in the  Transformers continuity--  with Lightfoot making a significant appearance in the SuperGod Masterforce series, while for Getaway the was only limited to toy commercials featuring Hasbro's "Power Master's" toy line.

As you can see from the pictures, the condition is pretty solid, with the car white plastic still untouched and non-yellowed.  There is only minor sticker-wear only on the side window of the Racing Mazda RX-7 car. Got this piece at a fairly decent bargain and  I must say that it was not regrettable!

Box has some flap-crease and shelve-wear. Not too concerned, as its noticeable only up-close, but otherwise, nothing too badly bent. Its a beautiful box as the graphics/ box art and battle-scene printing/ styles are the most appealing -- plus the element of a "Japan" exclusive Katakana fonts really highlight and make the whole package attractive = The highlight of any transformers collection.

ROBOT MODE

Fairly decent design, but to be expected lacking in lower leg movement as its molded in one fold-down piece. Head-sculpt stays fairly true to the cartoon model, albeit stylised -- to me its a nice face sculpt, more so especially robots with a mouth/face-guard.  His side doors become the robot mode's "wings", giving it the typical Anime super-robot look. Nice touch and adds character to the toy.  A+

POWER-MASTER/ GOD MASTER

Maroon/orange parts meshes well with his light grey suit-- to top it off, he is has a yellowed helmeted face. The chrome is somewhat a copper coloured tinge. Neat little figure, and this guy is used to activate the car's transformation. As far as articulation wise, like most God-Master figurines, the poseability is limited to his arms, which swivel up-down, ans legs which does the "split" and can be folded upwards when transformed into his "engine mode". B+

MAZDA RX-7 RACING CAR MODE

He looks cool in this mode as well. The God Master engine which is on the hood of the RX-7 lends it a more dynamic look. His weapon can be mounted on the roof in an "attack mode"--and tyres, although not rubber, damn-- still sport silver chromed rims and can be rolled along. The plus point is that the aesthetics are once again pretty much faithful to the character. A

                          FINAL THOUGHTS

God Master toys are not uncommon in the online market places or specialty  novelty stores selling Vintage Transformers. However, the downside, if not always, for us collectors who had not been able to obtain these toys as kids, are often than not resigned to paying somewhat "inflated" , "unjustifiable" prices for them. As such, if you are looking to complete your Super God Masterforce only collection, then by all means try and get him. He typically goes for around US$200 -US$500!-- depending on the overall condition of the toy/ box. Loose ones are most definetely cheaper, but its just not the same when buying the whole package. A must get-figure if you are a fan of the Japanese line. Miss out now, and most certainly the prices for these vintage Japanese Transformers will fetch sky-high prices in the near future!
