WING SABER TOYZ FEATURED AUCTION:- 1985 'MATCHBOX' DELUXE CLASS SPACE VEHICLE VOLTRON, AKA DAIRUGGER XV!

Hwy there boys and girls from the world over! Just a random blog post from yours truly Adam! 

Have been rather diligently looking for this piece from the long forgotten reaches of the super robot genre, and although there has been a debate amongst the most hard-core Voltron fans out there, your cartoon show was an amalgamation / butchering of  one the lesser known and not so popular in Japan 1970's show:  機甲艦隊ダイラガーXV aka Armored Fleet Dairugger XV. 

Chanced upon this listing for the 1980's 'Matchbox' version of the original Gokin Bandai Dairugger XV toy, which was a pretty hefty and huge combination. When fully assembled from a series of 15 (hence the name! duh) -- space vehicles ( 5 x 3 teams of Land, Sea and Air)-- it wasn't too shabby, to be honest! However, like those toys that were ported over to the States in those days, they were almost always 'neutered' in terms of omitting the toy's spring loaded missile launchers,  and least not to mention depriving them of their weapons and main power-up swords! Talk about being a total killjoy! If you ask me, the fact that the toys were devoid of any distinguishing weaponry features one of the main reasons not to get this particular version! Here's wishing anybody luck and success in bidding for this awesome toy, nonetheless!

FINAL THOUGHTS: 

Personally, and besides stating the obvious, this is way,  way beyond my level of comprehension and capabilities. It's just too time consuming for the causal collector like myself, even-though the temptation to challenge myself with the enormous (pun intended) task  sometimes does occur in my mind. The pricing discount on the Amiami Japan website, is a life saver to those who intend to buy this humongous, intricate and mind-blowing piece to add to their Perfect Grade collection. While I am strictly a Transformers fan-boy, sometimes the sheer force of all things Japan-inspired really does deserve the dose of attention and admiration it deserves, even though for a short moment. In addition, before I forget, the blog post inspiration was spurred by a little conversation I managed to have today with another GUNDAM enthusiast and colleague. Seems to me personally, he should just forget the niggles and just tackle this monster head on-- lol! --as too, to those how are steely enough and not to mention experienced enough to handle the complexity and all the hardships  associated with  the art of GUNDAM model building! 
Eh, I'll just stick to Robot Spirits or Gundam Fix Figurations, thanks very much!
