A redeco of Override, Dark Nitro Convoy transforms into a sleek Velocitronic race car. The rear section reveals flip-out (non-firing) blaster barrels when you insert a Cyber Planet Key into it; this assembly becomes Dark Nitro's rifle in robot mode. Transformation from car to robot is partially automatic, the torso and arms automatically swinging into position once the springs are released.

Dark Nitro Convoy comes with a fairly unique Cyber Planet Key. Though it is a gold-bordered Velocitron-style Key, it is cast from colorless clear plastic, like the clear-plastics on the main toy. It is unknown if this is a gang-molding issue, or if Dark Nitro was given a specifically color-changed separate-mold Key.

MACROSS 1/72 SUPER MESSIAH VALKYRIE ALTO CUSTOM - MODEL KIT!

Hi guys! Another quick update which I am super excited for! Just got myself a real big challenge as far as building model kits are concerned... Ordered myself a 2009 Bandai 1/72 scale Super Messiah Alto custom. Granted there will be loads of work to be done when it arrives, but inspired by the sudden surge in confidence in my wanting to test my plastic-kit building ability to the fullest. Wish me luck! Sorry for the stock pics, people. Will definitely post some work in progress and (hopefully) finished pics--! when it arrives at the end of the month!

I think because of the complexity and tedious nature of the kit itself- the estimated time taken to finish building the complete kit - decals and painted model and all - will approximately take me a good two weeks to complete. That's a good and long 2 weekends- assuming I begin working on it diligently on Saturdays and Sundays! Oh man, what on earth did I get myself into?! Meantime here's the order details, courtersy of the online shop from which I bought this monstrosity of a model kit from!  Details are in HK Dollars, so when using the currency exchange rate, the total paid for this plus shipping to Malaysia would be in the region of RM280. A fair price, IMHO. :D

Plus obviously, the positive thing about building plastic model kits is that although there is no room for errors in the sense if you slip-up and break something of importance from the spruce of the kit,   you are essentially in deep trouble; but once assembling the kit piece by piece, it kinda gives the builder the 'imagination' and drift from reality -- a sense that he/she is actually 'building' a complex Mecha from inside out- pistons, inner frame and all!  IMHO all Three modes- the Fighter, Gerwalk and Battroid modes are well done and made for a plastic kit. The decals might be a pain to put on, and some parts are unpainted like the visor on the bot head, and antennas, but it's those little attention to details -- strangely which I find myself wanting to put more effort into, personally to make my kit my own customized and special toy.    Macross Frontier/ Messiah Alto custom copyright Bandai 2009.

Hiya peoples! Sorry for the slack in updating my blog...oh well, better late than never, right?! Anyway thought Id preview some TF: Prime goodness....starting with the toy commercial campaign to celebrate the new Transformers show .  Oh why couldn't toy commercials over here be as cool  as those from Japan?!

Takaratomy's Transformers Prime commercial, to coincide with the release of the anime series Fight! Robot lifeforms Transformers: Prime which is scheduled to be aired sometime next month, possibly mid April 2012. 

Bought some releases at USD$19 a pop, namely AM-04 Ratchet and AM-06 Skywarp- which has not had confirmation of a possible USA-Hasbro release. To add a sense of 'play-value' to the exclusive Japan only Transformers Prime toys, Takaratomy has decided to include a sleuth of ARMS-MICRON - Robot-to weapon mini cons which can combine and power-up to make more powerful weapons. Although self-assembled, and includes some stickers, it nevertheless makes it more interactive and worth the import prices paid. Cannot wait to get these to add to my collection!

BOTCON DOUBLE-PUNCH! (Botocon 2010 ダブルパンチ Daburu Panchi)

Hi peoples, recently won an auction off Ebay for a Botcon Doublepunch! 

Arriving in approx 2 weeks time. Great homage to the original, more menacing since it uses the uber sold and intimidating looking Energon Skorponok mould. It's my first Botcon official toy added to my ever growing (selective) collection of Transformers toys. 

• Double Punch (BotCon 2010 souvenir set)
  • Accessories: 2 missiles

Limited to 1500 pieces, Double Punch is a redeco of Energon Scorponok, available exclusively at BotCon 2010 withTurbomaster and Shattered Glass Ravage. Double Punch transforms into a fanciful construction vehicle that resembles a mechanical scorpion, with two articulated bucket scoop arms that resemble pincers, along with an articulated crane arm that resembles a scorpion's stinger. Double Punch can also transform into a hover jet mode. He retains Scorponok's firing missiles and flip-out tail cannons, but lacks electronics. Double Punch is made from the original Energon version of the Scorponok mold, with none of the retooled features of Dark Scorponok.  Where both prior uses of this mold had had a Decepticon spark crystal embedded in one of the claws, Double Punch has a featureless blue dome.

D-310 Pretender Destron -Blue Bacchus (ブルーバッカス Burū Bakkasu) Arrived and Added to My Collection!

A shout out and huge appreciation to uber seller and pal Bodhar2000 for hooking me up with this very rare and highly sought after Vintage gem.  Updates! the package containing Blue Bacchus arrived safely a day earlier, 2 Dec 2011! Looks awesome up-close and in hand.

• Blue Bacchus (Crossformer, 1989)
  • Japanese ID number: D-310
  • Accessories: Crossformer shell, cannon/tail rotor, 2 small lasers, wing assembly, left & right landing gear, 2 thruster pods

Blue Bacchus is a redeco of the Mega Pretender Crossblades, transforming into a Cybertronic "dragster". His outer Crossformer shell's chest/head and waist pieces are retooled from Crossblades's to make it more robotic. The shell can still transform into a Cybertronic helicopter. Blue Bacchus can be stored inside his shell in either of his modes, and his vehicle mode can combine with the shell to form a helicopter with a Cybertronic "dragster" sticking out of its front.

Blue Bacchus (ブルーバッカス Burū Bakkasu) is Black Shadow's villainous partner in crime. Utterly cold-hearted and without mercy, he is an expert gunman with unerring aim and fantastic fast-draw abilities, but he still comes in a distinct second to Black Shadow in fighting ability. Blue Bacchus yearns to be as good as the other Crossformer, and follows him everywhere, hoping that he can learn from him and become just like him. Their partnership has made them infamous throughout space, and there is a massive bounty on their heads.

Blue Bacchus transforms into a helicopter, and can create an anti-gravitational phenomenon by spinning his rotors just so. This "Gravity Attack", as he calls it, can levitate any foes into his clutches.

Thus with the acquisition of Blue Bacchus,  the quest to complete my Transformers Victory collection is almost over, as I only have The Dinoforce aka Dinoking and the Autobot base Galaxy Shuttle to acquire.  It may take some time, but rest assured that it is a a given and highly possible.

Blue Bacchus' Packaging is pretty decent for it's age, and there seems to be little wear and tear, while the toy is immaculate and unused. There is only a minor dent on the front sheet of the box, but it does not hinder the appeal and display of the beautiful art-work and graphics of  the piece any way. Also, the stickers are untouched, making this a really sweet victory- ahem of sorts-  and although this might be the last Vintage for the year,  it certainly will not be consigned to the history books for long. I might be getting something more 'modest'  in terms of pricing and avalibility sometime next month. 

End of the day, just enjoy the hobby for what it's worth.  It's as simple as that.

Released only in Japan, Liokaiser is a unique and highly sought-after combiner. Unlike most other combiners, Liokaiser has almost no "combiner kibble", his feet and hands being built into the component robots. Only his combined-mode head is a separate accessory; even his hand-weapon is assembled from Killbison and Jallguar's extra weapons. However, in this form, the individuals' breastplate-animal partners cannot be stored and must be put aside.

Though his components were all sold as individuals, they were also available in a single Liokaiser box set.

Four of the six components to Liokaiser were used to make the European-exclusive Rescue Force. Unless you are in need of an armless combiner whose head is tiny, you should not attempt to combine them.

Hailing from somewhere beyond the Milky Way galaxy, Black Shadow (ブラックシャドー Burakku Shadō) is a vile gangster whose skills in robbery, extortion and murder are available to anyone who can meet his price. He is loyal only to the highest bidder; even the Decepticons are loath to work with him that often, as they can never be sure he won't betray them in mid-job if he gets a better offer. In jet mode, he can devastate buildings around him with powerful sonic shockwaves by breaking the sound barrier while flying at low altitudes, a technique he calls his "Sonic Boomer Attack".

His partner in crime is Blue Bacchus, a gunman with a similar personality and moral fiber who looks up to him. The pair's partnership has made them infamous throughout space, and there is a massive bounty on their heads, but Black Shadow would actually kill Blue Bacchus without remorse if the situation demanded it.

Black Shadow is a redeco of the Pretender Thunderwing, transforming into a Cybertronic jet. His outer Crossformer shell's chestplate/head piece is retooled from Thunderwing's to make it more robotic. However, it still transforms into a larger Cybertronic jet like the original version. The inner vehicle can be attached underneath the nose of the larger vehicle to create a combined starship mode. All three of his guns can be mounted on his shell's vehicle mode.

Difficult to obtain. And it did cost me a small fortune, especially in the condition which it came. Let's just say that a used stickered piece can fetch up to the region of $700! For hardcore fanatics...who are oblivious to paying crazy amounts of copious cash...lol
