WING SABER TOYZ SPOTLIGHT:- TRANSFORMERS MOVIE IRONHIDE "REMAKE"- SEXY BEAST?

Hey there, guys and fellow readers from the world over! Welcome once again to another blog-post from the uber blogger, Adam aka WSX. today is another short post and random thoughts for another spectacular Transformers Voyager mould which has not been getting the much wanted attention it deserves from the Transformers community.

TRUE BLUE IRONHIDE?

As taken from and credited to the original source, TFCLUB.com of China, several ENTICING pictures surfaced some days ago, somehow brought to  my attention that a  much more aesthetically pleasing looking Revenge of the Fallen Ironhide had been remade to yet flood the saturated live action movie toys market. It was made from the 2009 voyager Recon Ironhide mold, only this time the toy makers decided to use a much more decadent "Allspark Power" blue plastic similar to his "Offroad" incarnation.

IRONHIDE'S A BAD ASS!!

"Ironhide is the Autobots' resident weapons specialist and Optimus Prime's old friend. He is old because he is hard. He's probably had enough replacement parts to build a small army, but Ironhide doggedly refuses to roll over and die for anyone. He'll fight to the bitter end and take down more than his fair share of Decepticons in the process. Ironhide doesn't always see optic to optic with Prime, despite their friendship. He's perhaps the more practical of the two, and more a little trigger happy, so he can be more willing to push the Autobot code to the limit if he thinks it will get the job done faster. He has more weapons than a smaller third-world country, and he may or may not have blown up a planet with said weapons. His various weapons systems range from machine guns to Gatling missile launchers. He has also gave other Autobots weapon systems."

TRANSFORMERS WORLD 2005 IS AWESOME!

TFClub has posted an interesting new auction on Chinese auction site Taobao - for what appears to be a redeco of the Revenge of the Fallen Recon Ironhide. This version of the toy is a blue version of the heavily armed Ironhide released at the beginning of the year as a part of the first assortment of NEST Global Alliance Voyagers, with mud splatter effects above the wheel arches for additional details. It is in effect a combination of Ironhide's Recon mold and his "Offroad Ironhide" deco from the first movie line - an interesting choice that really lends itself to the mold and in this editor's opinion looks really dynamic, although fans wanting a red Movie Ironhide look like they might be denied yet again. The new and "sexier" looking-loose term! Ironhide was found out by the super site for ALL important Transformers news and events, and not to mention, one of my favorite haunts that is TFW2005.com, had some board members' tongues wagging and purring at its sheer coolness in terms of what seems to be a more detailed "mud" or off-road speckle effects on the side of Irohnide's GM Topkick 4x4 Monster Truck, makes it look like he's been on the muddy trail hunting and sniffing out those pesky Decepticons and move in for the final blow!  Add to the nicer and more conceited effort of silver and gold pain application in robot mode and you got a great package in an awesome and really under-appreciated Voyager mould.
Add a final bad-ass touch of having a huge arsenal of weaponry, and he's as good as bought!

FINAL THOUGHTS

Not alot of pictures of this awesome remade Ironhide circulating around at the moment. For many of us collectors,  the frustrating thing is the unknown time of its imminent release on the toy aisles, yet alone  if this will be yet another one of those Toys'r'Us or Walmart/ Target exclusives. I guess only  (and a whole lot of patience) and time will tell. I am not sure if this will be bought by me, as currently I have a 'quota" for this year. I might give myself an excuse for a good Christmas or New Year 2011 present down the road. LOL! Stay tuned!

WING SABER TOYZ SPECIAL: -DVD EXCLUSIVE- AMAZON JAPAN REVENGE OF THE FALLEN BLACK OPTIMUS PRIME!

HEY THERE PEOPLES! IT'S GETTING PRETTY LATE HERE IN MALAYSIA, BUT THE GOOD NEWS IS THAT I WENT TO COLLECT MY PRIZED POSSESSION TODAY AND TOOK SOME SHOTS OF THE PACKAGE AND TOY. DIDN'T BOTHER TAKING THE COVER FOR THE JAPANESE DVD AS ITS PRETTY STANDARD, JUST LIKE THE REGULAR AMERICAN VERSION.  PICS ARE LOCATED BELOW THE POST! CHEERS! WSX.

Hey there, peoples!  A very warm welcome once again
to the uber-blog of yours truly, WSX! Man, this month has been just like one good deal of managing to purchase some of the "grail" or limited items for a much more affordable/ cheaper price and "bargain" than the original crazy-inflated prices!  Truth be told, I was not seriously considering grabbing this Black and Copper repaint of the Revenge of the Fallen Autobot Leader: Optimus Prime. However, once again, some part of me just couldn't resist the temptation of getting  this from the Amazon.Co Japan  website for a deal-busting 44% off the usual price of ¥15,800 (non Blu-Ray DVD price) to a mere ¥8,969! Whoa, this deal was too good to be true. That meant only ONE thing, to grab the best scenario before I missed the rare chance again. LOL! ;-)

DVD EXCLUSIVE JAPAN AMAZON BLACK OPTIMUS:- INTRO

This sexy black incarnation of the regular Leader Class version  was only available and exclusively released for the Japanese market, as one of those uber-promotional campaigns. Takara-tomy also sweetened the "deal" of the Blue-Ray DVD release on the 18th of December 2009; by including an additional "goodie" in the form of a Tsutaya Limited Edition EZ/ Legends Stealth Bumblebee

ROBOT MODE:- BLACK IS BEAUTIFUL

I DIG black repaints. The other plus point is that, Optimus Prime's toy design for the second Transformers live action movie it's in itself very similar and proportionately "accurate" and consistent with the movie's CG-model. Majority of Transformer fans are in total agreement that the dual translucent Blue "Energon" swords accentuate the black and copper-coloured flame patterns on the robot mode. The grey plastic used oh  his feet and mid-section complements the design and makes it look imposing. There are some observers that are complaining that this doesn't make it look "Nemesis Prime" looking. Simple explanation to all those who are always bitching-- it's not INTENDED to be the Decepticon Evil Prime character, which most Black version of the Autobot Leader tends to be associated with!! GET OVER it! I for one am glad that there is a very beautiful black Prime that even existed in the first place! A++

TRUCK-TANKER VEHICLE MODE

Nothing visually stunning, IMHO, but it's just an extension of Prime's robot mode. It would have been more appealing if the makers has added some chrome or more silver paint applications on the front and gas-tank areas of the truck. However, the flame patterns does really work well in overall in Prime's truck mode, and it's the saving grace. B+

EZ / LEGENDS "STEALTH" BUMBLEBEE

Fitting that the inclusion of a Tsutaya Japan limited Bumblebee is re-imagined from the "Deluxe-Class" version, and repacked into this DVD exclusive Prime. the level of care and detail put into the face of this tiny black bee is a very neat touch. Hey, nothing's perfect, although they could have also made the window's into a dark translucent plastic colour to make the tiny care-mode look even better! A+

TRANSFORMERS REVENGE OF THE FALLEN DVD

A solid-action packed movie. Visual effects are top-notch, and some of the climatic battle scenes are well done. IMHO, there are so many haters for Micheal Bay, the director and main person who had a big influence in making this movie. But the whole affair turned out to be one giant heck of a thrill-ride. The robots had personalities. Read: Old codger Jetfire, which was to me, the most fleshed out and most interesting character. A

FINAL THOUGHTS:-

THE ITEM WILL BE SHIPPED FROM AMAZON JAPAN TO YOURS TRULY WSX, SOMETIME NEXT WEEK, AND IS EXPECTED TO ARRIVE EITHER AT THE END OF MAY 2010, OR EARLY JUNE 2010. I THINK OVERALL, ITS A SOLID ADDITION TO EVERY OPTIMUS PRIME FAN, AND OF COURSE, THOSE WHO REALLY DIG BLACK REPAINTS. SOLID-LOOKING ROBOT MODE MAKES UP FOR THE SO-SO TRUCK MODE IN BLACK. DEFINITELY WORTH GETTING AS AMAZON JAPAN IS SHIPPING THIS COOL SPECIAL EDITION TOY AT A VERY AFFORDABLE ¥10,200 PLUS INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING AND HANDLING! DAMN IT, NOW THAT I THINK OF IT, I SHOULD HAVE BOUGHT TWO! A+++
