Gaia Unicron is an all new mold which transforms from Unicron's robot mode into Unicron's face inside a volcano. You read that right. He also transforms into a "capture" mode for either Voyager Optimus Prime or Megatron. His Micron partner, Bogu, transforms from what appears to be a robot mole into a pointy claw for him to wield. He features a panel which has one of each of the 3 Arms Micron Power crystals, not unlike Hades' tail.

New pictures of Transformers Prime Voyagers Thundertron and Ultra Magnus!

Hi folks, WSX here back to give a preview of what to me personally are another two excellent additions to the already awesome TF: Prime toyline in the form of Thundertron and Ultra Magnus! These are the Hasbro US versions, and also please take note that Takaratomy will also be releasing theirs in the next couple of months.

UPDATED in box pics! Toy arrived, together with two Jet Vehicons sometime two weeks ago.  Very shiny....! 

In person his chromed parts, while random and looking somewhat rather 'unfinished' - only his chest and shoulders are chromed, It's actually quite tastefully done and serves as a collector-edition type toy.

Takaratomy's rendition of the main Villain of the Decepticons from the Transformers Prime animated CG show is to be released sometime end of the month in July. Major differences from Hasbro version, is of course the addition of shiny paint apps, some neat stickers and TWO Arms Microns/ One a Bat Arms Micron- which transforms into a Scythe and Winged jet pack, and the other a standard Gorilla/ Arm Cannon. Price is approx USD $50.

WING SABER TOYZ SPECIAL: FINALLY AFTER 2 WEEKS IN THE CINEMAS, WATCHED DARK OF THE MOON- IN 3-D!

Watched it last night after 2 weeks plus of hesitance. After reading all the sub-plots and spoilers*, I wasn't going into the cinema theater with any expectations other than seeing the 'Great'* Sentinel Prime in all his Majestic, robotic glory. Let's just say although he is the integral part of the Dark of the Moon plot, he was full of Gravitas and made his somewhat tragic but lasting presence felt through and through. 

He was a Savior and  dedicated former Supreme Commander of the ancient Autobot battleship, the Ark, whose mission was to escape the warring and destroyed home planet of Cybertron.  Once revived by Optimus Prime using the Great Matrix of Leadership, Sentinel was not the old and mellow former Master and ally the Autobots once knew and trusted with their very existence.  And unbeknownst to all who who thought that Sentinel was a true ally, he was infact a very changed and hubris-filled Autobot warrior. 

I liked the pace of the movie this time, and some of the newer Autobots,  although still somewhat brief, but much better than the previous two films, actually served some purpose and made their presence felt on screen.  'Dino'- the Autobot formerly known as Mirage and 'Q' aka Einstein-bot  aka Wheeljack had been made into very believable and highly human-like characteristics.   Real credit and appreciation must go out to the writers and tech-effects and CGI wizards at ILM once agian who provided their impressive skill to make this one of the best looking Giant F*cking robot wars and battle-royale  spectacle this summer. As to date, DOTM has continued to smash records worrldwide, netting a whopping $600+ million! Talk about awesome!  

After being blown away by the final installment, the question is: Will I watch it again, this time in regular 2-D?

Well, considering that the 3-D spectacle was really a non-event and didn't catch my fancy in terms of it being an visual treat, the next viewing would be certainly be a more immersive experience. in that I will go to the IMAX theater for sure.

 Transformers: Dark of the Moon gets 4 stars out of 5!

Just repainted the Voyager Class Sentinel Prime when I got the toy out of the box, and as usual, the muted plastic colour used for the in-package toy really was a real put off, seeing as how I always like my toys looking like , well, collectibles instead.  Got out the Silver/ Metallic Red / gold and Gun-metal Gundam markers and some flat brushes and painted the bugger up in no less than a couple of hours. He came packaged with a giant MECHTECH weapon in the form of his water-cannon when in Fire-truck mode. Movie Accurate front windows/ chest in bot mode was a real bonus, and it looks miles better, IMHO than the Leader Class counterpart.  It doesn't hurt otherwise that his transformation scheme is pretty ingenious, and his alt mode is pretty accurate representation. Voyager Sentinel gets an A for being a fun and intuitive toy.

WING SABER TOYZ SPECIAL: Dark of the Moon Voyager Skyhammer!

Dark of the Moon Voyager Skyhammer. Just a simple repaint of Voyager Dotm Skyhammer. Didnt like the white head, and grey out of the box. 

Done in dark blue/ gunmetal / gold / black and silver Gundam markers. 

Colors dont rub off once painted on, and strangely, only works well on Movie figs.

Dark of the Moon

Part of the second wave of Dark of the Moon Voyagers, Skyhammer transforms into a made-up assault helicopter that partially resembles a Mil Mi-24. As part of the MechTech series, he has a large weapons system that converts from a double-barreled rifle to his Energon Sword. He also features two detachable missile pods underneath his wings. His hands can wield either weapon, and he also features an additional port on each of his forearms, a pair on each of his wings, one underneath his cockpit, one on both sides of his Mechtech weapon, and one on the backs of each of his shoulder cockpit halves.

An unofficial but quite awesome feature, his rotors can be transformed and extended out to freely spin from his chest. However, despite the claims of the instructions, the rotors cannot be fully detached from the robot.

WING SABER TOYZ SNEAK PEEK: DARK OF THE MOON VOYAGER-CLASS DECEPTICON GENERAL =SHOCKWAVE! DESTRUCTIVE FORCE!

Hey there, peoples! Welcome to another blog post from yours truly WSX! I would like to kick off the month of April with another one of those pre-released Dark of the Moon Live Action Transformers movie toys which has yet to hit the mass retail market. As it is now pretty much confirmed and known for sometime now, the main villain from the third Transformers movie franchise by Micheal Bay- will be none other than the old Marvel UK comics/ Generation 1 stalwart- the one-eyed and commanding DECEPTICON  Military Operations Commander - Shockwave. Got him loose from a seller on Ebay, shipped last week and received this in the mail recently. Came packaged loose with bubble-wrap, but one hinge in his right sole to clip his legs in his Cybertronian tank mode went missing for some reason....methinks it was 'taken out' and smuggled from the factory..but it still transforms well, save for the small gap in tank mode. A slight peeve, but all in all happy and glad to finally receive him. 

HE IS TO SERVE AND GAIN FOR HIMSELF!

Unlike most early Transformers Shockwave was not modified into an Earthly form, and retains his Cybertron alternate mode — a 35-foot-long ray gun. He possesses the power of flight in both modes, and commands the totality of the electromagnetic spectrum allowing him to emit beams of energy in a wide variety of forms. His high energy output makes him particularly fuel inefficient, but radioactive fuel sources stored in the reactor in his chest can help Shockwave to overcome this problem. Although his logical brain center is usually an advantage, human adversaries often pose more of a difficulty to Shockwave, as more intuitive and emotional thought processes often confound him.

While the animated series established Shockwave as fanatically loyal to Megatron, Shockwave's original bio and most fiction since have described him as coldly and patiently looking for ways to overthrow Megatron, not for personal power (as Starscream would) but simply because it was logical for him to do so. Shockwave concluded that he should rule so that no emotion should prevent the DECEPTICONS from conquering the universe. This was retained in most comic books, where Shockwave became leader of the Decepticons.

Unusually for a 1985 (second year) toy, Shockwave was past in Transformers fiction from the first year, appearing in both the original cartoon pilot and 4-issue comic book miniseries.''

FINAL THOUGHTS: 

A decently made homage for a sinister DECEPTICON character,  he is definitely one of the must buy releases from the Dark of the Moon toyline when it officially hits retail outlets worldwide sometime in the middle of May 2011. Love his giant cannon, more menacing and a whole lot bigger and powerful from hos Generation1 predecessor.  It came in the usual flat grey plastic used to make his thighs, arms and shoulders...so to make up for the dull look, cue Gundam weathering markers for instant remedy! Repainted the after-mentioned parts, and voila! - Shockwave has not looked more menacing and better in person! Very highly recommended! A- for Voyager class size (slightly on the small side) but A+ on homage, colour--it's purple! and simple yet effective transformation!

WING SABER TOYZ SPOTLIGHT:- TRANSFORMERS MOVIE IRONHIDE "REMAKE"- SEXY BEAST?

Welcome once again to another blog-post from the uber blogger, Adam aka WSX. today is another short post and random thoughts for another spectacular Transformers Voyager mould which has not been getting the much wanted attention it deserves from the Transformers community. 

TRUE BLUE IRONHIDE? 

As taken from and credited to the original source, TFCLUB.com of China, several ENTICING pictures surfaced some days ago, somehow brought to  my attention that a  much more aesthetically pleasing looking Revenge of the Fallen Ironhide had been remade to yet flood the saturated live action movie toys market. It was made from the 2009 voyager Recon Ironhide mold, only this time the toy makers decided to use a much more decadent "Allspark Power" blue plastic similar to his "Offroad" incarnation. 

IRONHIDE'S A BAD ASS!!

BIO:- 

"Ironhide is the Autobots' resident weapons specialist and Optimus Prime's old friend. He is old because he is hard. He's probably had enough replacement parts to build a small army, but Ironhide doggedly refuses to roll over and die for anyone. He'll fight to the bitter end and take down more than his fair share of Decepticons in the process. Ironhide doesn't always see optic to optic with Prime, despite their friendship. He's perhaps the more practical of the two, and more a little trigger happy, so he can be more willing to push the Autobot code to the limit if he thinks it will get the job done faster. He has more weapons than a smaller third-world country, and he may or may not have blown up a planet with said weapons. His various weapons systems range from machine guns to Gatling missile launchers. He has also gave other Autobots weapon systems."

TRANSFORMERS WORLD 2005 IS AWESOME!

TFClub has posted an interesting new auction on Chinese auction site Taobao - for what appears to be a redeco of the Revenge of the Fallen Recon Ironhide. This version of the toy is a blue version of the heavily armed Ironhide released at the beginning of the year as a part of the first assortment of NEST Global Alliance Voyagers, with mud splatter effects above the wheel arches for additional details. It is in effect a combination of Ironhide's Recon mold and his "Offroad Ironhide" deco from the first movie line - an interesting choice that really lends itself to the mold and in this editor's opinion looks really dynamic, although fans wanting a red Movie Ironhide look like they might be denied yet again. The new and "sexier" looking-loose term! Ironhide was found out by the super site for ALL important Transformers news and events, and not to mention, one of my favorite haunts that is TFW2005.com, had some board members' tongues wagging and purring at its sheer coolness in terms of what seems to be a more detailed "mud" or off-road speckle effects on the side of Irohnide's GM Topkick 4x4 Monster Truck, makes it look like he's been on the muddy trail hunting and sniffing out those pesky Decepticons and move in for the final blow!  Add to the nicer and more conceited effort of silver and gold pain application in robot mode and you got a great package in an awesome and really under-appreciated Voyager mould. 

Add a final bad-ass touch of having a huge arsenal of weaponry, and he's as good as bought!

FINAL THOUGHTS 

Not alot of pictures of this awesome remade Ironhide circulating around at the moment. For many of us collectors,  the frustrating thing is the unknown time of its imminent release on the toy aisles, yet alone  if this will be yet another one of those Toys'r'Us or Walmart/ Target exclusives. I guess only  (and a whole lot of patience) and time will tell. I am not sure if this will be bought by me, as currently I have a 'quota" for this year. I might give myself an excuse for a good Christmas or New Year 2011 present down the road. LOL! Stay tuned!
