Hi there, folks! First off, I'd like to personally apologise for not updating my blog-post these past few days, as I have been tied down with work at the office of late! Well, better late than never for my adoring worldwide readers! The latest fixation for my stimulative and robot-centric mind is none other that a Mecha design centered on a very old school and nostalgic- factored Arcade game machine, which has been making a strong come-back of sorts in terms of merchandising by the very talented and up-market design talents - genius all of them!- at the Bandai Japan HQ. This blog post is to celebrate the release of a very neatly and wonderful designed Mecha from this Virtual/ On Series of fighting robots.

Cyber Troopers Virtual-On (電脳戦機バーチャロン Dennō Senki Bācharon, roughly "Computer Fighting Machine Virtual-On") is a series of video games created by Sega AM-3 (Amusement Research and Development Department 3, later renamed Hitmaker). The original series was first published for arcades in February 1995. The game features fast, action-oriented gameplay requiring quick reflexes. It has seen four iterations to date and has been ported to several video game consoles.
The mecha designs for all installments of the series were created by robot designer Hajime Katoki. Related merchandise released for sale include plastic models, original soundtracks, trading figurines and audio drama CDs.

MBV-04-G "Temjin"
"The first of the two original Virtuaroids, the Temjin is a well-balanced VR that serves as the architecture basis of all Virtuaroids. It is well equipped for long-, mid-, and close-range combat; a pair of fold-out boosters installed underneath its V-converter aids in both speed and aerial combat. When the Temjin was first designed, its concept included a railgun for combat, which proved to be too cumbersome, and ill-suited for melee combat. Eventually, it was retooled to use a Multipurpose Beam Launcher, or M.P.B.L., a weapon capable of acting both as a rifle and an energy sword.
A simplified variant of the Temjin was also produced. This streamlined version, called the 10/80, is colored gray and equipped with a vulcan cannon and sometimes a railgun. One of the first pilots to use it effectively was Issy Hatter of the S.H.B.V.D., who used the 10/80 to defeat a second-generation Apharmd"
BANDAI'S ON A ROLL!
It seem like the guys at Bandai Japan readily and willingly perfected the art of toy making seduction. This is a series of Mecha which, apart from the exposure to the arcade gaming days of my hallowed youth, I have no soft-spot or allusion to. IF THE PRODUCTION SHOTS ARE ANYTHING TO GO BY, THEN THE OVERALL PACKAGE IS FLAWLESSLY EXECUTED. TEMJIN'S ARSENAL OF WEAPONS -- LOVE HIS BIG-ASS SWORD- GLOWING EFFECTS AND ALL MAKES IT ONE MUST HAVE MODEL IN YOUR COLLECTION.

FINAL THOUGHTS
IT'S ON A PRE-ORDER SALE, AND THE DESIGN IS VERY FUTURISTIC AND SLEEK, SOMETHING DIFFERENT FOR MECHA FANS, AND ESPECIALLY FOR HARD-CORE TRANSFORMER ENTHUSIASTS LIKE ME. IMHO, THIS HAS A SLIGHT GUNDAM-ISH INFLUENCE IN PARTICULAR TO THE DESIGN OF TEMJIN'S UPPER BODY AND LEGS. HOWEVER, HAVING SAID THAT, TEMJIN HAS JUST THE RIGHT AMOUNT OF SUBTLE TWEAKS IN HIS OVERALL LOOKS-- WITH A VIRTUAL HELMET TO SEPARATE HIMSELF FROM ANY ASSOCIATION WITH HIS FELLOW BANDAI STABLE OF CREATIONS.I LIKE IT! SO PRE-ORDERED! A+
